Miss Fuentes sat across from us at dinner, quiet and calm as my sister and I downed another glass of wine.
“So, let me get this straight…you haven’t updated your website in how long??”
“Um, its been about a year.”
“Well how do we look you up then?”
“It’s under construction, but i will have it up soon.”
Being the journalist sluths we are, and unwilling to accept the fact that she would not have some content on the web, we did some digging. This is what we found.
Phylicia Fuentes might not have much up right now in the ways of the web, but she is definitely well thought of. Her video ‘Night on Disco Mountain‘ on Milkfat Films is by far one of the most viewed short films we have up, and while most of her projects involve animation, her live-action efforts show massive potential as well. Her videos on YouTube are slowly but surely racking up the views. To top it off, a new faculty member at CalArts has talked her up on a blog that (and I quote) is “charting various skills.” Even a web page meant for Bollywood videos has got in the mix and is showing Phylicia’s video on their site. Bollywood? Can you believe it? I can’t. I’m dumbfounded.
Though she is still honing her chops over at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Phylica is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. Plus, we really like her. Oh yeah and she has a facebook profile. So if you like her style, make sure to be her friend.
Please enjoy ‘The Beautiful Adventures of Dolphin Boy!
